To get to the Islands you need to take a ferry or a water taxi. You pick one of several destinations and grab the correct ferry. If you ride a bicycle, like I did, you need to take special ferries - like the one that goes to Hanlans Point and it's clothes free beach. Riding the ferry also gives you a nice adventure (cheap at $6.50) and great view of Toronto's skyline.
Sitting on the beaches you can relax and enjoy the views. This is a big barrel with a big number 7 on it, cast loose from the Mimico Cruising Club - it wanted to do a bit of cruising.

First of all, it is both strange and amazing that there is a clothing optional public beach in Toronto, I mean what is this Europe? Second of all, it's pretty weird to take off your clothes in public. But if you are going to lose the clothes the beach is a perfect place for it to happen. Here is my naked foot.
The beach, like the World Naked Bike Ride, has a few naked people in a sea of people wearing clothes, but that is okay because clothing is optional. I stripped down and let it all hang out. It was funny the reaction of people heading out to a clothing optional beach when they see naked bits. You are curious and want to see some flesh, then when you see it you are surprised. The sign should say "clothing is optional, yeah, it's okay to get naked". I ditched my clothes in this beach front mansion and headed over to main beach.
It's quite the experience and I can highly recommend the act of legally taking it off and enjoying the warm sun and sand. Oh yeah, the sand, well not everything is perfect because it really does get everywhere.
PS thanks for everyone that has asked for more pictures of my nude romp but I have already deleted them from my camera. See more coverage of the beach on BlogTO and Naughty Toronto Blog.
