Obama-Inaugu-Nation

Walking in the heart of downtown Toronto around lunchtime today I was amazed by the sights of crowds gathered around so many large screen television sets and televised billboards watching the inauguration of U.S. President-Elect Barack Obama. Toronto's City Hall was showing the event in their foyer, stores in the Eaton Centre had screens showing the event and the Yonge-Dundas Square was full of people watching and hoping for the future. Someone passed by on the way to the square and I overheard her say she felt like she was missing history.

The new President has certainly captured the hearts of not only Americans but people around the world - including America's next door neighbour, Canada. It seems like not only is Barack Obama being inaugurated as the 44th President, we the people, are being inaugurated as well.

Crowds gather at Yonge-Dundas Square to watch the Inauguration.
