desiFest

DesiFest is a National South Asian Music Festival that was staged in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal. In Toronto the festival was on May 31 and was held at Yonge-Dundas Square (which is one of my favourite places) with a 12 hour free concert featuring dancers and singers. The above dancers are from DIYAS which is a dance company with a DIYAS Bollywood Fusion.

There were plenty of booths with fashion, jewelry and food of South Asia. The celebration coincided with the end of South Asian Heritage Month which was started in 2001.
