Hackers infiltrate Facebook fan page of social network's founder Mark Zuckerberg

A Facebook page used by fans of the site's founder Mark Zuckerberg has been hacked.

A message claiming to have been written by the 26-year-old billionaire was posted on the page, which has three million followers, earlier today.

It read: 'Let the hacking begin: If Facebook needs money, instead of going to the banks, why doesn't Facebook let its users invest in Facebook in a social way?'

Referencing the founder of the Grameen bank, which offers small loans to people to start small businesses with, it continued: 'Why not transform Facebook into a 'social business' the way Nobel Prize winner Muhammad Yunus described it?'

The post, which also linked to a Wikipedia article about social business, received nearly 2,000 comments before it was removed.

Analysts think that as the fan page is for Mr Zuckerberg, it would be run by Facebook staff, meaning many people could have had access to its password.

'Mark Zuckerberg might be wanting to take a close look at his privacy and security settings after this embarrassing breach,' Graham Cluley, of Internet security firm Sophos, told the Daily Telegraph.

'It's not clear if he was careless with his password, was phished, or sat down in a Starbucks and got sidejacked while using an unencrypted wireless network.

'But however it happened, it's left egg on his face just when Facebook wants to reassure users that it takes security and privacy seriously.'

The page has now been moved to a new address.
