Muhtadi International Drumming Festival

The Muhtadi International Drumming Festival was held over the June 5-6 weekend at Queens Park. The Sunday  crowds started small due to the cool and rainy day but the enthusiasm grew with the sound of drums. This little drummer boy was with the band "Boom".

The festival was started by Muhtadi, who is both the founder and artistic director, in 2000. The Trinidad born performer returns every year to Trinidad rejoin the Desperadoes Steel Orchestra for the Trinidad Steel Band Competition.
